Corgi Insurance Expands to Rental and Community Association Insurance as Property Owners Face Coverage Constraints

PR Newswire

Broader rollout builds on millions of dollars in premium already underwritten through existing partners across rental, commercial and community association lines.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Corgi Insurance, today announced an expansion of its insurance offerings for the people responsible for rental homes and community property. The rollout brings together short-term and long-term rental insurance, commercial tenant insurance compliance, and community association coverage for homeowners associations, condominium associations, co-operatives and commercial risks, addressing risks that extend beyond an individual resident’s policy.

Across these product lines, millions of dollars in premium have already been underwritten through Corgi’s existing partners. Corgi is now expanding access more broadly, building on that experience to meet the insurance needs of rental owners, commercial property managers and community associations.

Rising premiums, fewer coverage options and tighter underwriting are making insurance harder to secure and placing greater pressure on property owners and association operating budgets. The broader rollout gives these buyers more options for protecting their properties, rental income and shared community assets.

“A loss can leave an owner with a repair bill and potentially interrupt rental income. An uncovered roof claim can put an entire association’s budget at risk. We are expanding to address more of the insurance needs that property managers and community boards face every day,” said Robert Barlow, EVP of Partnerships at Corgi.

From Rental Homes to Shared Community Property

For rental owners, the stakes extend beyond repairing a building. A covered loss can also interrupt rental income. Corgi’s short-term and long-term rental offering includes options for the building, owner-provided contents, liability and lost rental income following a covered loss, subject to underwriting and policy terms.

Solving Lease Compliance for Commercial Property Owners and Managers

Corgi is extending its insurance compliance offering into commercial real estate through lease-embedded general liability coverage. Eligible commercial tenants without compliant coverage can enroll under one policy held by the property manager, with their own limits.

The property manager and owner are additional insureds, and tenants pay monthly through their tenant ledger at no cost to the property manager. Tenants can select available upgrades for additional coverage. Enrollment and coverage are subject to program eligibility and the issued policy.

Expanding Coverage for Community Associations

For homeowners associations (HOAs), condominium associations (COAs), co-operatives and associations with commercial risks, shared roofs, structures, amenities, sports courts, retention ponds and other common-area features create responsibilities that extend across a community.

HOA coverage options include general liability with $1 million or $2 million per occurrence, excess or umbrella coverage from $1 million to $5 million per occurrence, and directors and officers coverage quoted on request. Property and inland marine coverage can be paired with general liability, while accident coverage for participants in association camps, sports and functions can be offered separately or added. Limits, deductibles and coverage combinations depend on the policy selected.

Product availability varies by state and risk. Coverage is subject to underwriting, policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions. Product details and quote or inquiry options are available at corgi.insure/businesses/property.
