Launched September 1, the platform turns a parent-completed questionnaire into personalized reports teachers, therapists, and caregivers can use.

PROVIDENCE, RI, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Pieces of Perception LLC launched its online platform on September 1, converting a parent-completed questionnaire into personalized reports designed for sharing with the adults in a neurodivergent child’s daily life, including teachers, therapists, grandparents, and caregivers.

The platform addresses a documented gap in the paperwork families receive following a neurodevelopmental diagnosis. Clinical evaluations typically report standardized scores and areas of delay, while the day-to-day information adults actually need — sensory triggers, calming strategies, communication patterns, and individual strengths — usually goes unrecorded, and is conveyed verbally by the parent to each new adult in turn.

“Every family gets a folder full of test scores, and almost none of it helps the sitter on a Tuesday afternoon,” said Sarah Elizabeth Mangiarelli, founder.

The launch aligns with rising identification rates. The CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network estimates approximately 1 in 31 children aged 8 has autism spectrum disorder, and roughly 1 in 6 children aged 3 to 17 have a developmental disability diagnosis.

How the Platform Works

Parents complete a guided questionnaire covering communication style, sensory responses, regulation strategies, and strengths. The platform generates two report types. The Comprehensive Plan documents a full profile across twelve sections, including sensory patterns, communication patterns, emotional patterns, strengths, and an action plan. The Action Report addresses a single current situation — a school transition, a new behavior, or a crisis — across thirteen focused sections.

Reports include a Sensory Map covering all seven sensory systems, a strengths section placed front and center, a communication guide listing effective phrases for the individual child, a first-week checklist, and a one-page quick-reference card readable in under two minutes.

“Parents already know their children better than anyone in the room,” Mangiarelli said. “What they have never had is a way to hand that knowledge to the next teacher or therapist in a form that gets used. That is all this is.”

Every report includes “Your Brain, Your Voice,” a guide written for the child rather than for adults. Published in three age tiers — 4 to 7, 8 to 11, and 12 and up — it explains the child’s profile in age-appropriate language at no additional cost.

Optional Care Guides adapt the profile for specific audiences, with separate versions for babysitters and respite workers, extended family, siblings, teachers, therapy providers, and co-parenting adults. An IEP Goal Recommendations add-on translates the profile into measurable, IDEA-aligned goal language for school planning meetings.

Reports are generated using artificial intelligence from parent questionnaire responses. Pieces of Perception states that reports are informational resources intended for review with a child’s licensed care team, and that the company does not diagnose, screen for, or assess any condition.

The company operates an Access Program for families for whom cost is a barrier, with no application process, funded in part by a Pay It Forward fund through which supporters can sponsor another family’s report.
