indiAccounting 2.0 Brings Multi-User Access and Encrypted Accountant’s Copies — No Server, No Cloud, No Per-Seat Fees

The buy-once accounting and payroll app now lets a whole office work in the same books over the local network, and hand a sealed, read-only copy to their CPA

GEORGETOWN, KY, UNITED STATES, September 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Indomitus Group today announced indiAccounting 2.0, the largest release since the product launched, adding two features small businesses have been asking for since desktop accounting software began disappearing into the cloud: genuine multi-user access over a local network, and an encrypted accountant’s copy.

Both work without a server product, without a cloud service, and without per-seat charges. One computer in the office hosts the company file; every other computer connects to it directly over an encrypted local connection. A five-person office pays once — $399 on top of the $249 base license — and every desk is included.

By comparison, industry-leading cloud accounting platforms with payroll commonly cost a five-person business in the range of $2,500 to $3,000 per year, every year, with recent subscription increases in the category running as high as 25 percent.

A real office, with real permissions

Access is organized into five areas — Sales, Purchasing, Banking, Payroll, and Books — and each person is granted no access, read access, or write access per area. Payroll is the case that matters most: a front-desk employee entering invoices never sees wages. Reports answer to the permissions of the data they expose rather than a blanket setting.

When two people open the same invoice, the second is told by name: “Eugene Marsh is editing this record.” An administrator can close the books for period-end work, and everyone else keeps reading while changes wait. Every edit is stamped with who made it.

Pairing a computer requires a code read aloud across the room, and every connection is encrypted and pinned to the host machine — a computer that isn’t the host cannot impersonate it. A lost laptop is revoked without changing anyone’s password.

Hand your accountant the books, not your credentials

indiAccounting 2.0 also introduces the accountant’s copy: a single encrypted file containing the complete books, which any accountant can open in their own copy of indiAccounting for review.

The books reconcile to the cent, because the file is a snapshot of the company file itself. What it does not contain is everything that isn’t the books — the license key, the app password, saved email and bank credentials, user accounts and sign-in history, and employees’ Social Security numbers and direct-deposit details are all removed before the file is sealed, then the file is compacted so the removed data is genuinely gone rather than merely unreferenced.

The file is encrypted with AES-256 under a passphrase the sender shares separately. On the accountant’s side it opens as a review-only company under their own license, clearly badged, with every attempted change refused in plain language. Nothing travels over a network, no port is opened, and no server of ours is involved.
